Christmas Abroad

Troy Brathwaite January 12, 2024

Welcome! It's the holiday season of Christmas and New Year's, and along with my wife and son, we flew from New York to the magical cities of London and Paris. We spent our days exploring all that London had to offer - from visiting historical landmarks like Big Ben and the London Tower, to indulging in delightful shopping sprees at famous department stores like Harrods. Of course, it wouldn't be a true London experience without donning our raincoats and embracing those traditional rainy days!

You could feel the festive ambiance as soon as we stepped off the plane. Even though London is known for its traditional rainy weather, we were eager to make the most of our time here.

After immersing ourselves in all that London has to offer, it was time to take a scenic train ride to Paris, the City of Love. You won't be able to resist taking a stroll along the Seine River or visiting famous attractions like the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre Museum. We rode the double-decker bus all around the city. We hopped on and off all day, which turned out to be the best way to get around.

In Paris, we strolled through charming cobblestone streets while taking in stunning sights such as the Notre Dame Cathedral. The beauty of traveling during this time of year was experiencing how both cities came alive with festive cheer. Sparkling Christmas markets filled with unique crafts and delicious treats awaited us at every turn.

In conclusion, no trip is complete without tasting the amazing food. Whether you enjoy fish and chips in London or croissants and macarons in Paris, you will love the flavors. It was a memorable holiday with culture, shopping, and delicious food - and the rain added some charm to it.

My recommendation: If you are interested in the best traditional Indian Chai while in London, visit the Chai Guy at Covent Garden. https://chaiguys.shop/pages/locations
